Class : 5 Mr R Jeffreys Term : Autumn 2008Language To read work by significant children's authors from Wales ; To read a range of reference texts ; Writing book reviews and ‘blurbs'. Writing notes from non-fiction material. Speaking and Listening ; Role Plays. Presenting information / reviews to the class Mathematics Topics will include Multiplication / Division, Place Value, Doubling / Halving, Fractions, 2D Shape, Measures, Addition / Subtraction and Number Patterns. We will be Problem Solving on Fridays. Science Topics Materials and Recycling ; Looking after our Earth, and sustainability. Foundation Subjects; Geography; (Environmental Change) Tracing the route of the River Rhymney and surveying pollution Music;( Folk song and improvisation ) PE ;( Swimming-trad. Folk dance ); RE; ( Journeys and Pilgrimages ) ICT / CDT ( LED Cards and Computer Control ) Welsh; (Personal Knowledge)) Art; (Ernie Zobole). In History we will be working towards the annual British Legion Remembrance Service in November.
General Guidance Please ensure correct PE kit is brought in ( Swimming is on Wednesdays, and indoor PE on Fridays ) Our children always look smart in school uniform. Please continue to send them to school dressed appropriately. All moneys to be sent in a sealed, named envelope on a Monday. Parent's Role Please try to check Homework Diaries and support their home tasks. Homework usually consists of Spelling on Mondays, and Mathematics over the week end. The children have ‘Home reading' books too. |
