Scripted news reports & news­paper reports; myths and legends; poetry (kennings); descriptive writing and explanation texts.

Mathematics
Multiplying and dividing by 10, 100, 1000; multiplication/division facts; fractions and decimals; doubling and halving; grouping data and using bar graphs; 2d shapes; using a protractor and calculating angles.

Parent’s Role
Please ensure that all children complete their homework and return it to school at the correct time. Spellings will come home on a Mon­day to be learned for Friday. Home­work will be sent out on Friday to be returned on the following Monday. Please read and if necessary respond to all letters received. If your child achieves in any way outside school please inform us so that we can celebrate that achievement.

Science Topic
Electricity ­ Constructing circuits incorporating switches; drawing circuit diagrams using the correct symbols; investigating how circuits can be changed (e.g. brightness of a bulb/ direction of flow etc). Investigating renewable and non­renewable sources of energy.

Art ­Explore Indian Mughal Miniature art using detailed watercolour painting. Investigate mango motif & mehndi patterns.

Welsh ­Describing holidays in Welsh, interviewing a person about their holidays and hob­bies.

ICT ­Multi­media including hyperlinks; email; e­safety.

General Guidance

P.E. will be mainly outside this term (Tues and Fri). Please ensure your child has shorts, tracksuit bottoms and a T­shirt as well as trainers or daps that have not been worn as shoes that day. Also please ensure that all items of clothing are clearly marked with your child’s name. I am sorry but for health and safety reasons, we are unable to give out birthday cake.
