Language
The Snow Spider (continued from last term); moving image (narrative in film); persuasive writing in the form of letters and film trailers;  newspaper reports; play scripts; classic poetry.

Mathematics
Use of all number operations in real life situations; using and applying mathematics to solve problems; standard written methods of calculation.  area of rectangles and compound shapes; proportion and ratio; probability; pie charts.

Science Topic
Sustainable Earth (Linked to Shelter making in DT)
The properties of materials relating to their uses.  How some materials are formed or produced.
A consideration of what waste is and what happens to local waste that can be recycled and that which cannot be recycled.

Topic Studies (Some of this has been carried over from last term which proved to be a very busy one!)
Geog - Snowdonia and National Parks - ‘Why care for the environment?’
R.E. - The Natural World
History - Tudor Life
DT - Shelters (Linked to science work)
Art - Printing
Welsh - Focus on writing - weather forecasts, self-descriptions and role-plays.
ICT - PowerPoint; Databases using excel.

General Guidance
P.E. will be on a Weds and Fri. 
Please ensure your child has shorts, tracksuit bottoms and a T-shirt as well as trainers or daps that have not been worn as shoes that day.
Also please ensure that all items of clothing are clearly marked with your child’s name.
I am sorry but for health and safety reasons, we are unable to give out birthday cake.

Parents’ Role
Please ensure that children complete their homework and return it to school at the correct time.
Spellings will come home on a Monday to be learned for Friday. Homework will be sent out on Thursday or Friday to be returned on the following Monday.
Please read and if necessary respond to all letters received.
If your child achieves in any way outside school please inform us so that we can celebrate that achievement.
