• ROTARY CONCERT SUCCESS - Last Tuesday the school participated in the Rotary musical concert at the newly refurbished Bedwas Workingmen's Hall. It must be said that this was indeed a celebration of the musical talents that exist both in Machen and the schools in our cluster of which we can all be truly proud. I would like to thank both Miss Bryant for leading the Machen School choir and to Mrs Bradley ( Violins ) and Mr Wheeler ( Brass ) for all their hard work. May I also take this opportunity to thank the Rotary Club of Machen for the continued support they give to our local communities - well done everyone!

• INTER SCHOOL SPORTS DAY- Children from this school will be entered into the interschool sports competition at Machen on July 7^th starting at 11am.Those children participating will be informed  by letter. All competitors will need to bring a packed lunch for this event .It is hoped the community council sponsored event will finish at about 2pm.

• NEW Nursery Parents - Many thanks to all those parents who attended the recent induction  meetings at the school. Your children were splendid and we look forward to working with both yourselves and your children in what I know will be  an effective partnership in the coming years.
