•· HALF TERM BREAK -School closes on Friday for the Whitsun holiday and pupils will return on Monday 6th June.
- SCHOOL SPORTS DAY - we are still hopeful that we may be able to hold our annual sports day on Friday 10th June at 1.15pm - weather permitting.
- SCHOOL PHOTOGRAPHS - all children should have received the proofs for parents to view. Proofs and payment need to be returned to school no later than the 10th June.
- CONNECTIONS CHURCH ARTS WEEK - children in classes 5 and 7 had a successful arts week project courtesy of Connections church based here in Machen. The school would like to thank most sincerely all team members from The Jubilee Arts group for their hard work in preparing the children for their presentation in front of the school and parents who attended on Friday. Well done everyone for a fantastic project.
- CAR BOOT SALE - Unfortunately, the weather was not the best and turnout was disappointing. It is hoped that a similar event will be held in the future. The PTA would like to thank those who nonetheless supported us in this venture.
- HEALTH and SAFETY NOTICE - I have been informed by the local police that some parents are parking on the yellow zig zag lines outside the school to drop off children in the mornings. I must inform you that this is not only illegal but also very dangerous. Police will continue to monitor the situation and take action against individuals concerned.
- HOME LEARNING WORKSHOPS FOR PARENTS - may I take this opportunity to thank the staff for their hard work in preparing for the recent event which served to offer guidance and support to parents in Reading, Maths and ICT. Feedback from the parents who attended these workshops was extremely positive and it is hoped that similar events will be held in the autumn term. There is no doubt that by working in partnership we can all ensure that our children really do make the best progress possible.
- SWIMMING GALA - well done to all the boys and girls who represented the school in the recent Swimming Gala. Although this year we competed against schools with greater numbers of Year 6 pupils the school nonetheless performed well coming 2nd overall.
