- OBSTACLE RELAY NSPCC CHARITY FUNDRAISER - the school will embark on a charity fundraising event on Tuesday, 11th October to raise much needed funds for this charity. Sponsor forms will be sent out this week to enable children to participate in this venture. The good work of NSPCC relies heavily on the efforts of fundraising like this and we would like to raise as much money as possible.
- SWIMMING SESSION ENDS - many thanks to the parents in class 5 who ensured that the intensive swimming sessions were a great success. I am confident that the 3 week intensive course will prove to have a real impact on our children's swimming skills. Swimming sessions for this class have now ended and children will now resume their afternoon topic lessons. A big thank you is extended to Mrs Ruth Bull for all her support during this worthwhile venture.
- FOREST SKILLS- it will be Class 7's turn next Thursday to take part in Forest skills. Please could you provide your child with a change of clothes and wellies.
- NEW BREAKFAST CLUB MENU - there will be some changes to the menu for breakfast club with leaflets distributed shortly to explain the changes.
- LATENESS - we have had a number of children who are turning up late for school on more than one occasion which is impacting on learning. I would advise you that it is essential that children come to school in good time and should arrive in the school yard in time to join their designated line. Those children who have a genuine reason for being late must report to the school office to explain their reasons. The school has a duty by law to report any persistent lateness to the education welfare officer, who will visit homes where non compliance is noted. Your cooperation with this matter is most appreciated.
- CHELTENHAM SHOPPING TRIP- Please could all outstanding monies be forwarded to the school office - by Wednesday, 5th October at the latest. Many thanks.
- MACHEN LIBRARY VISITS - the school is keen to ensure that as many children as possible become members of the village library and will therefore make visits during school times to support our local library. Next week - classes 4 and 7 will visit the library. We ask as many parents use the facilities as possible as library usage across the country is being monitored with a view to rationalising services!
